Algebra AEC is growing. We're looking for one of those grads that are going 110 MPH out of school and would fall apart if they let off the gas. Lazy students need not apply.
We’re looking to add to our deck of unicorns. Specifically, we need a graduate ME in Cleveland. This individual would be mentored by our senior group of engineers and also be tasked with self-learning responsibilities.
Our graduate engineers are essentially in a 4-year bootcamp to become highly effective project managers, while gaining the experience they need to kill it on the PE exam. You will regularly be placed in high level meetings and will be lifted hard (not pushed) to be a contributing member of the team and learn quickly about our work and industry. You will have all the resources, technology, and team members you need to execute tasks effectively, and be sent to training seminars locally and nationally. What we require of you is to bring fire and passion.
Below are some of the traits we’re looking for.
Must be a good human being.
Must accept the veracity of global warming and the fact that if we do not change how we design our buildings, drive our cars, and eat our food – we will go the way of the dinosaurs.
Must be able to disagree on fundamental concepts during conversation in a respectful manner.
Must be able to think beyond your own scope of work, to things that affect others working on the project and optimizing an owner's operations.
Must be motivated for something other than the weekend.
Must be mechanically inclined.
Must appreciate architecture, design, and culture.
Must be confident without being cocky and have a high degree of humility.
You need to be kill'en it in at least 9 of the requirements below:
Must have had a job, started a business, or in some other way, shown some level of commitment to being an adult (i.e. continuing education beyond a bachelor’s degree).
Must be interested in how buildings get designed and constructed.
Should care about the built environment and want to work on spaces that make a difference through acoustics, thermal comfort, visual acuity, design, etc.
Must work well in multidisciplinary groups.
Must be able to convey complex concepts in a simple and succinct manner.
Must be comfortable in client meetings.
Must know when to stay quiet, and when to speak up in client meetings.
Must be a patient, effective, and a wonderful/formidable teacher.
Should have great communication skills.
Must have an engineering degree (preferably in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university).
You get a gold star on our application review form for having a master’s degree.
Must have an FE or be able to test and pass the FE within one month of hire.
Must have experience coding and be comfortable scripting.
Must understand basics principles of acoustics and vibrations.
Must be able to learn new programs independently and pick them up twice as fast with one-on-one guidance.
Should hate doing repetitive tasks manually.
Should have some experience in high performance computing with analysis for CFD / lighting / acoustics, etc.
Compensation will be industry standard.
Benefits are killer (other companies can't touch what we're offering; see below).
Work-life balance is highly encouraged.
2.5 weeks of paid vacation starting immediately. That amounts to 6.5 total weeks of PTO when you include holidays (i.e. 30+ days off annually).
Relatively flexible schedule. We work when our clients work. Essentially flex-time.
Comp-time (over the course of the year, we don’t work more than an average of 40 hours a week).
